Product: Researched and compiled a policy inventory and literature review on economic disadvantage in sport in all contexts of Canadian sport
Process: Undertook primary and secondary research of policy environment in all provinces, territories, and at the federal level in Canada. Reviewed academic literature on the impact of economic disadvantage on sport participation (at all levels), drawing on empirical studies and analyses of policy conducted worldwide.
Outcome: Produced an inventory of relevant policies in Canadian jurisdictions, and highlighted the extent to which these align with findings in empirical studies. Made recommendations for how Canadian policy could be fine-tuned to ensure that economically disadvantaged individuals are not marginalized in the delivery of sport programming at the provincial, territorial, and federal levels.
